The definition of a Simile is a figure of speech in which two unlike things are explicitly compared. There are many examples of similes in Frankenstein. One example is the quote, which can be seen to the right. The comparison of him to a child shows that even Isaac Newton, the man who played a key role in the scientific revolution and is considered one of the most influential scientists of all time, started small, picking up shells before he discovered what science had to offer. It implies that anyone, no matter their background or history, can accomplish great scientific feats. The evidence to this is the accomplishments of Doctor Frankenstein.
