The tone of Frankenstein feels almost fatalistic and foreboding. It is a dark piece, that was later created into a horror film. Throughout the novel there are tons of examples of foreshadowing, usually the death of a loved one. The monster of the book is horribly ugly, so ugly that anybody who lays eyes on him, even his own creator, is appalled by his appearance, and put into the mindset that he is a dangerous and harmful being. The work is written so well that both the monsters appearance, and the terror it causes people, can almost be seen and felt by the reader. While people may have varying personalities, everybody in the novel can agree that bad things will happen, mostly all by the monsters hand. It is a vile and disgusting being that, while only wanting to be loved and accepted, causes nothing but mayhem and misery.
